Weather
A soaked glove stays cold, however hard it heats
Water in the fabric pulls heat outwards. A glove that has taken on wet will not keep you warm, no matter how much energy the elements put into it. That is the reason for the polyester and nylon outer with its repellent finish: snow and drizzle sit on top and run off.
These are not diving gloves. For driving snow, wet wind and a long day outdoors they are enough.

Operation
Phone out, gloves on
The fingertips carry conductive yarn rather than a hole in the fabric, so everything an ordinary touchscreen expects still works: check the route, read a message, take a picture.
That is less about comfort than arithmetic. Strip your gloves off in freezing air and you hand back the warmth you built up — and you will not get it back within a minute.

Snowfall and drizzle are what they are built for: the outer fabric sheds wind and wet. What they should not do is spend time under water.

Measure the width of your hand across the knuckles, leaving the thumb out. M covers 3.5–3.9 in (9–10 cm), L runs from 3.9–4.1 in (10–10.5 cm), XL from 4.1–4.3 in (10.5–11 cm). If you fall between two, take the larger one.
